Revlon Gum Drop

I love my purples and my neutrals and this polish seems to have both. I know purple is not a neutral but grey is and this nail polish is both, claps hands. Gum drop by Revlon is a cream polish that is a very light lavender purple with a grey tone to it, very pretty. The best thing is that it is a scented polish and smells just like Dots, at least to me.

This is two coats of the polish with no top coat. I change my polish to often to use a top coat every time. I thought it would look chalky but it really doesn't, though it is a bit spotty. I recommend a third coat.

Kardashian collection

I am just about as peeved as one can get. I wanted this collection in the worst way, and by the time I go to get it, there are only a couple colors left, GRRRR! So I pick up these two colors out of the Kardashian collection by Nicole from OPI and take them so just happy to have my claws on a couple of the glitters. I had to swatch them immediately, of coarse. Terrible, Terrible Terrible, I couldn't even get the pics to work right for me, Insert scream here.

In the above swatch I used two coats of the polish and a caot of Seche Vita. This one is called Wear Something Spark-Kylie and I was pretty excited about it. Nice girly pink glitter, I mean come on gorgeous or what. On the nail it seemed to get kind of a coral hint to it though not much. The Glitter was flaking off and the polish dried really rough. It felt awful to have on. I put the top coat on which put an end to the flaky glitter but the worst is yet to come.

For this swatch I used three coats of the polish which ended up being lumpy due to the gloopy nature of the polish. This one is called Kendall On The Katwalk, and they better sweep after she goes down it. The glitter in this one flaked off even worse then on the other polish in this post and was rough as well. I needed three coats of this one to get it to look half way decent. The Seche Vita improved the look and stopped the flaking for this polish as well. But the worst of it, after all that wanting and waiting and work, the polishes chipped off. 90 % of it was gone in an hour. Very displeased with this collection!

Another Playtime Session with Midnight Magic

I know I have said this before, but I love Midnight Magic by Covergirl Boundless Colors. I tried it with another overlay and I like this a whole bunch as well. For this swatch I used three coats of Midnight Magic, one coat of Sally Hansen HD Lasar, and one coat of Seche Vita. this pic doesn't really do the combo a great deal of justice but you are able to see a bit of what it looks like. It has that hidden color effect to it which I think is very cool. The layer of Laser makes this polish look like a dark navy blue with flashes of royal purple.

Milani: 530 Gems

This looked like a great party polish to me. With the holiday season already here, I can see this nail polish being the trim for many a party look. This is three coats of Milani 530 Gems and one coat of Seche Vita top coat. It has the right mix of colored glitter, in a clear base, for the holidays, I think. This nail polish was pretty easy going on and it didn't flake off for me. All in all a great polish, even the drying time wasn't too bad.

Silver Panda

I was given this Pin for my birthday by my parents. Panda was a childhood nickname for me and I have collected a few over the years, mostly from my parents, LOL. I don't remember the gram weight on this pin but it is a heavy sucker. This panda pin is made of precious sterling silver with a bit of black enamel. I haven't worn it yet but it will probably be worn in my hair as most are, though I have a black shearling coat that may get adorned with it, Hmmm.

Midnight Magic and Nicole

I loved Midnight Magic by Cover Girl Boundless Colors, I just had to play with it a little bit. This is Midnight Magic with Nicole....Spotted by OPI in the the Nicole line of polishes. I am one of those people that is obsessed with the night sky and this application reminds me a lot of the night sky when it is clear black and full of brightly colored stars. In this swatch I used three coats of Midnight Magic, two coats of Nicole....Spotted and one coat of Seche Vita.

Grey's Anatomy

I have wanted this polish since it first came out and it has always been sold out, another popular nail polish for this year. There have been so many. I finally got a hold of it as you can see and I am glad that I did. It is a great duochrome nail polish with colors of grey purple and green in it. It would be a great polish for spring but I enjoy the contrast it would have with the snow in the winter. This is two coats of Grey's Anatomy with one coat of my favorite Seche Vita top coat. It shines to high heaven with this particular top coat on it.

London Blue Ring

When I saw this ring I absolutely had to have it. I had never really seen London Blue Topaz before and I fell in love instantly. This ring is one of only a few that I have actually bought for myself, but like I said, I had to have it. The center stone is a whopping two and a half carats, wow. On each side of the ring are a small round rhodalite garnet, madiera citrine, and a peridot. all under.10 carats. the metal is platinum over sterling silver. This ring just shines. I wear it often with my blue jeans actually. One would think that this is a dress up ring but I like it with my casual clothes and moods. I get lots of comments on it when i wear it out and about, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Though my wedding set still steals the show, LOL!

Midnight Magic

This is Midnight Magic by Cover Girl Boundless Colors. Though this line of Cover Girl nail polish doesn't seem to be too terribly popular, this particular polish seems to be on many wish lists. It was sold out every time I looked for it for months. Finally, I got my nails on it, or the other way around LOL, and it was worth the wait. I must say before I rave, it had a tendency to bubble on me and I don't shake my polish bottles. See bubble on ring finger. :(

That being said, I love this shade. It is a velvety dark slate grey black and is still very shimmery. This first coat was a little streaky but evened out on the second. I used 3 coats anyway as so many polishes look better that way and it has become habit for me, but I could have gotten away with two. The formula was better then I expected due to experience with others in this particular cover girl line. It was thick but not overly so, and not watery and thin like others in the line. For the most part Midnight Magic went on very well.
This is a quick shot of the polish with Seche Vita top coat. Usually this top coat adds to the shine and sparkle in a nail polish, though here it almost seems to dull it a bit. Still a stunning color. Midnight Magic looks amazing by itself or with other polishes layered over it. This is easily one of my fav's.

I Have Failed My Readers!!

As I said, I have failed my readers. I do sincerely apologize and a reason. I have a 1 month old as of 2 days ago. My pregnancy was horrible and I spent a good deal of it in the hospital. Baby is out and we are both now doing well. I will be back to posting more often though it will be an uphill battle as I finish my recovery and get organized again. Right before I learned my husband and I were having a new bundle of joy, I began making plans to expand my blog to accommodate almost all aspects of a woman's life. I am still hashing out the details and scaling it back a bit. Hope you all enjoy the expansion! Our New Bundle Of Joy!!

Dragonfly Necklace

One of my favorite things about summer is getting to see the dragonflies. This is the perfect time of the year as they are everywhere in my part of the world. I got this necklace for my birthday from my mom and dad as they know how much I love dragonflies. This murano glass inspired pendant is from the J Francis collection and is a bit over an inch high and wide. It is a fun piece of jewelry to wear as animal/insect pieces so often are. I may have to wear this in the end of winter when I have spring fever and need a bit of fun. :)

Mossy Britches

This is Mossy Britches by Nina Ultra Pro. I saw this polish on another blog and couldn't decide if it was really for me or not. I loved the color but would I like it on me? Would anybody else? My mom happened to pick this up not knowing I was debating it. I saw it on her and jumped all over it. Who, what, when, where, why, LOL? So I immediatley borrowed and swatched it. I LOVE it and so did others. Big Smiles there. She picked it up at Sally Beauty and I think I will too.

This is two coats with no top coat. I think I should have used a top coat, not because it chips or anything like that but the gold in it would come out better. I have had it on for about a week and I have only suffered a bit of tip wear, not bad at all. I will say that the formula left me a bit skeptical. I can't say why really it just didn't feel right, but when it was dry all the septiscism was all but gone.
